The First Direct Flight from Ho Chi Minh City to the “Land of Happiness”: Unveiling the Ticket Price

On August 30, Bhutan Airlines announced that the first direct flight connecting Vietnam and Bhutan will depart from Ho Chi Minh City in January 2025.

Starting next year, Bhutan Airlines will operate 20 round trips annually between Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) and Paro Airport (Bhutan). Return flight tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Bhutan are expected to be priced at USD 1,050 (over VND 26 million) for business class and USD 900 (over VND 22 million) for economy class, including taxes and fees.

According to Bhutan Airlines, the new direct route aims to cater to the travel demands of Vietnamese tourists wishing to visit Bhutan. Previously, Vietnamese travelers had to rely on charter flights or connecting flights via Thailand or India to reach the country.

Bhutan is known as the “Land of Happiness” and is a favorite destination for travelers.

Mr. Pema Nadik, Executive Director of Bhutan Airlines, shared that the introduction of this direct flight route will not only enhance connectivity but also promote cultural exchange between Vietnam and Bhutan.

Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism Department, noted that Bhutan is becoming an increasingly popular travel destination. The direct flight service operated by Bhutan Airlines will not only offer more convenient and flexible travel options for tourists but also boost tourism links between the two nations.

The Kingdom of Bhutan is a South Asian country located at the southern end of the majestic Himalayas. It is the only place in the world without traffic lights and is famously known as the “Land of Happiness,” offering a unique blend of nostalgia and modernity.
