International Holidaymakers Flock to Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen’s Beachfront Accommodations Fully Booked for 2/9 Holiday

International Visitors Outnumber Domestic Travelers by Air in Khanh Hoa

According to statistics from Cam Ranh International Airport, during the four-day holiday for National Day on September 2nd (from August 31st to September 3rd), the expected number of flights is approximately 450 take-off and landing trips (a 5% increase compared to the same period last year), serving around 76,845 passengers (an 8% increase from the previous year).

Of these, domestic flights accounted for 196 trips with 28,790 passengers, while international flights totaled 254 trips serving 48,055 passengers, mainly from China and South Korea.

International visitors to Khanh Hoa by air outnumber domestic travelers.

“The reason for the higher number of international visitors to Khanh Hoa compared to domestic travelers could be due to the increase in domestic flight ticket prices during the National Day holiday, which rose by about 20% compared to regular days,” said Mr. Vo Quang Hoang, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Hotel Association.

According to Mr. Hoang, up to this point, 3-5-star hotels in Nha Trang city have achieved a room occupancy rate of 60%; while in Bai Dai – Cam Lam, the rate is around 80%, with many large hotels reaching 90% occupancy, mainly for 3-day 2-night packages, concentrated on August 30th-September 1st.

Additionally, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hai – Director of the Southern Interprovincial Bus Station in Khanh Hoa, shared that there are about 140 buses departing from the station to various provinces and cities daily. During the 2/9 holiday, the number of trips increased from 30 to 170-175 departures per day.

Information from Saigon Transport Stock Company also revealed that, in addition to the daily trains, the railway sector arranged additional trains from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang (SNT4, SNT5, SNT7, SNT8, and SNT12) and from Nha Trang to Danang (SE41 and SE42) for the National Day holiday. There were also several other reinforcement trains running from Ho Chi Minh City to northern provinces and vice versa, with a stop at Nha Trang station.

According to the leader of the Nha Trang Transport Branch, although there are still many train tickets available for this holiday, a 30% increase in ticket sales compared to regular days is expected as the holiday approaches. The railway sector has planned to increase trips to ensure sufficient tickets to meet the travel demands of the people.

To ensure the best service provision for locals and tourists during the National Day holiday, the Department of Tourism has requested tourism businesses in the province to strictly adhere to regulations on price registration, price listing, and selling at the listed price. They also emphasized the importance of ensuring food hygiene and safety, environmental sanitation, and appropriate cultural behavior towards tourists.

Phu Yen: Many Beachfront Hotels Fully Booked

In Phu Yen, according to the Tourism Management Division of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the total number of tourists expected to visit Phu Yen during the National Day holiday (from August 31st to September 3rd) is estimated at 46,000, an increase of 8% compared to the same period last year.

Many beachfront hotels in Tuy Hoa are fully booked.

Among these, approximately 500 are international visitors, marking a 92% increase compared to the previous year. The total number of guests who made room reservations is estimated at 26,000, a 9% increase from the same period last year, including 370 international guests, a 76% rise year-over-year.

The average room occupancy rate is over 55%, with larger hotels and those located near the beach reaching an occupancy rate of about 80-100% on August 31st and September 1st.

Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 90 billion, a 41% increase compared to the previous year, including accommodation revenue of VND 15.6 billion, a 31% rise year-over-year.

During this holiday, various tourist service facilities are hosting activities to serve visitors. For instance, Rosa Alba Resort is organizing a barbecue buffet dinner on the evening of September 1st by the garden and pool; Stelia Beach Resort is offering a set menu of culinary delights from August 31st to September 3rd, along with a violin performance on the evening of September 2nd, 2024; Sala Grand Tuy Hoa Hotel is hosting a buffet dinner with musical entertainment on the evening of August 31st on the 17th floor; and Mandala Hotel & Spa Phu Yen is presenting a buffet dinner and Central Highlands music program on the evening of September 1st.
