Saigon Jewelry Company listed the round gold ring price at 77.3 – 78.6 million VND per tael for buying and selling.
Doji Group and Phu Quy Company listed the round gold ring price at 77.5 – 78.6 million VND per tael for buying and selling.
Bao Tin Minh Chau Company listed the round gold ring price at 77.46 – 78.66 million VND per tael.
The gold ring price has increased significantly for the second consecutive week, reaching an all-time high. The increase in the gold ring price follows the rise in global gold prices. Accordingly, many predict that if global gold prices continue to rise this week to 79 million VND per tael and reach a record high of 80 million VND per tael soon.
Meanwhile, SJC gold bars are maintained by businesses and banks at 79 – 81 million VND per tael for buying and selling. For many months, SJC gold bar prices have not fluctuated with global gold prices but adjusted according to the selling price of the State Bank.
At the same time, the global gold price remains above the 2,503 USD/ounce mark. When converted at the current exchange rate, the global gold price is approximately 76 million VND per tael (excluding taxes and fees).
This week, 15 Wall Street analysts participated in the Kitco News gold survey. Of these, five analysts predicted an increase in gold prices next week, while five analysts anticipated a decrease, and five others forecast stagnant prices (an even split between scenarios).
In the currency market, on September 2, the State Bank of Vietnam kept the mid-rate unchanged at 24,221 VND per USD. At commercial banks, the USD exchange rate fluctuated around 24,692 – 25,032 VND per USD.
The Unexpected Drop in Gold Ring Prices
This morning (September 1st), domestic gold ring prices dropped by 150,000 VND per tael, settling at 77.3 – 78.6 million VND per tael for buyers and sellers, respectively. This downward trend in domestic gold prices can be attributed to the stagnation of global gold rates.
