In a recent announcement to the four districts and relevant units, the Hanoi Department of Transport (DoT) stated that the Hanoi People’s Committee has authorized the DoT to delegate authority to the “one-door” units in Me Linh, Thanh Oai, Quoc Oai, and Ba Vi districts to receive applications and process administrative procedures for driver’s license (DL) issuance and renewal.

So far, the DoT has delegated authority to 13 districts to receive applications and issue DLs.

The four districts will start accepting applications and processing DL-related administrative procedures from September 5th onwards.

To ensure a smooth implementation, the Hanoi DoT has requested that the aforementioned localities prepare the necessary conditions to receive applications and provide outcomes for organizations and individuals consistently, adhering to current regulations.

This delegation of authority aims to reduce travel burdens and prevent crowds at the DoT’s “one-door” unit. Previously, the Hanoi DoT had reported to the City People’s Committee and received permission to delegate authority to the “one-door” units in various districts to accept applications and process DL issuance and renewal procedures for their residents and neighboring areas.

Currently, apart from the two locations for receiving and returning results of DL renewal procedures at 258 Vo Chi Cong, Xuan La, Tay Ho District, and 16 Cao Ba Quat, Dien Bien, Ba Dinh District, the Hanoi DoT has authorized 13 districts and towns to handle these administrative procedures, including Nam Tu Liem, Long Bien, My Duc, Dong Anh, Ung Hoa, Phu Xuyen, Dan Phuong, Soc Son, Son Tay Town, Me Linh, Thanh Oai, Quoc Oai, and Ba Vi.
