On September 3rd, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Province’s Department of Tourism, shared that the region welcomed over 578,000 visitors during this year’s National Day holiday. Among them, more than 175,000 guests stayed, mostly domestic tourists.
According to Ms. Thanh, the increase in airfare impacted the travel plans of domestic tourists. However, the newly opened highway from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang offered a smooth journey, attracting tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Tay Ninh to travel by road to Khanh Hoa.

“Since the opening of the Nha Trang – Cam Lam and Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet highways, we’ve seen an increase in personal vehicles, and tourists tend to opt for self-organized trips. As a result, travel companies didn’t experience a significant increase in group tours during this holiday,” shared Ms. Thanh.
During this National Day holiday, the People’s Committee of Nha Trang City promoted and encouraged the display of QR codes introducing Nha Trang and providing a tourist hotline to enhance the quality of services offered to visitors in the coastal city.
According to the Khanh Hoa Province’s Department of Tourism, this National Day holiday was not a peak tourism season, despite the four-day break. Many families and companies had already traveled and vacationed during the summer months. Additionally, with the holiday falling close to the start of the new school year, there wasn’t a significant surge in tourist numbers.
The tourism support center of the Khanh Hoa Province’s Department of Tourism received two reports from tourists during the holiday. One incident involved an assault and loss of property on Diep Son Island in Van Ninh District, while the other was about an oil spill affecting the Nha Trang beachfront.
