The country witnessed a record-breaking tourism revenue during the National Day holiday on September 2nd. A multitude of provinces and cities across the nation reported a significant boost in their tourism income, showcasing the thriving domestic travel industry.

Ho Chi Minh City

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has released information on the tourism situation during the National Day holiday in 2024. Accordingly, the number of visitors at tourist and entertainment sites in the city is estimated at 980,000, a 2% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (960,000 in 2023).

Of these, domestic tourists accounted for approximately 425,000, a 1.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (420,000 in 2023). International visitors were estimated at 38,800, a 3.2% increase compared to 2023 (37,600 in 2023).

The number of visitors staying at accommodation facilities was estimated at 214,630, a significant 32.5% increase compared to 2023 (162,000 in 2023). The room occupancy rate reached an estimated 85%, a 6.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (80% in 2023).

Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 2,940 billion in just 4 days, a 1.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (VND 2,890 billion in 2023).

Hanoi

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the capital city served approximately 672,900 tourists during the 4-day National Day holiday, a 5% increase compared to the same period last year. International tourist arrivals reached 58,900, a significant 35.8% increase compared to the previous year (including top markets such as India, South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, the US, and the UK, among others).

Domestic tourist arrivals were estimated at 614,000, a slight 3.6% increase compared to the previous year (this year, most tourists chose to vacation and travel to tourist areas in the outskirts of Hanoi, resulting in a sudden surge). Total tourism revenue exceeded VND 2,180 billion, an 8.3% increase compared to the National Day holiday period in 2023.

Danang

On September 3, the Danang Department of Tourism announced that the total number of visitors to the city during the 4-day National Day holiday reached nearly 308,000, a 21.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Specifically, domestic visitors reached about 217,000, a 23.8% increase compared to 2023; international visitors reached about 91,000, a 15.3% increase compared to 2023.

With the increase in tourist arrivals, Danang’s tourism revenue exceeded VND 1,200 billion, a 33.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Thanh Hoa

According to the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, during the National Day holiday from August 31 to September 3, the province’s tourism revenue reached VND 870.5 billion (a 31.3% increase compared to 2023).

The beach city of Sam Son remains the top tourist destination, followed by Pu Luong Community Eco-Tourism Area (Ba Thuoc District); Hai Tien Eco-Tourism Area; Hai Hoa and Bai Dong Eco-Tourism Areas (Nghi Son Town), and Thanh Hoa City… Room occupancy rates ranged from 35% to 37%. Notably, Pu Luong Community Eco-Tourism Area achieved a 100% occupancy rate.

With a large number of tourists visiting and vacationing, the province’s tourist sites welcomed 395,700 visitors, a 20.4% increase compared to the previous year.

Quang Ninh

According to the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, the number of tourists visiting Quang Ninh during the 4-day National Day holiday from August 31 to September 3 was 455,000, a 19% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 1,033 billion, a 31% increase compared to 2023 (VND 787 billion in 2023).

Khanh Hoa

According to the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, during the 4-day National Day holiday, the province welcomed more than 175,000 tourist arrivals, a 15% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 756 billion. The average room occupancy rate of accommodation facilities was about 70%; some resorts in Bai Dai and beautiful resorts in Nha Trang had room occupancy rates above 90%.

Ninh Binh

During the National Day holiday from August 31 to September 3, 2024, Ninh Binh province welcomed approximately 374,000 visitors, a 67.9% increase compared to the 2023 holiday period.

According to the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, the number of tourists visiting Ninh Binh during this National Day holiday increased significantly, reaching 374,000. International visitors were estimated at 74,000, a remarkable 276.7% increase compared to 2023 (19,646 visitors).

Tourism revenue is estimated at nearly VND 650 billion, a 182.6% increase compared to 2023.

Nghe An

During the 4-day National Day holiday, Nghe An province experienced a significant surge in tourist arrivals compared to the same period in 2023.

The province welcomed and served 320,000 visitors, a 19% increase compared to 2023.

Of these, 110,000 were staying guests (a 22% increase compared to 2023); international visitors numbered 1,200. Total tourism service revenue exceeded VND 635 billion, a 27% increase.

Lao Cai

According to the Lao Cai Department of Tourism, from August 31 to September 3, 2024, the province welcomed approximately 196,500 visitors. Tourism revenue during the 4-day holiday exceeded VND 600 billion.

Binh Dinh

The number of tourists visiting Binh Dinh is estimated at 204,044, a 13% increase compared to the previous year. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 555 billion, a 0.8% increase compared to 2023.

The total number of tourist overnight stays is estimated at 96,000, a 0.4% increase compared to the previous year. The average room occupancy rate at accommodation facilities from August 31 to September 2 was 75%.

The majority of tourists visiting Binh Dinh province were domestic tourists from major tourist centers such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta provinces, and the Central Highlands provinces, among others…

Binh Thuan

According to the Binh Thuan Department of Tourism, the total number of tourists visiting the province during the National Day holiday was approximately 385,000, a threefold increase compared to 2023. International visitors numbered about 9,700, and tourism revenue was approximately VND 510 billion.

During the holiday, the number of tourists peaked on August 31, September 1, and September 2. The average room occupancy rate ranged from 80% to 95%, with many facilities reaching full occupancy.

Domestic tourists visiting Binh Thuan province mainly came from Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, the Southern provinces, and some Northern provinces… The majority of tourists concentrated in Ham Tien, Mui Ne, Tien Thanh, Tuy Phong, Ham Thuan Nam, La Gi, and Phu Quy (Binh Thuan province).

Kien Giang

On September 3, the Kien Giang Department of Tourism announced that from August 31 to September 3, the total number of visitors to Kien Giang exceeded 159,000, a 25.6% increase compared to the same period. International visitors numbered more than 15,500, a remarkable 171% increase. The number of visitors to tourist sites exceeded 114,000, a 25.9% increase, and the number of staying guests was over 44,500, a 24.9% increase. Tourism revenue reached approximately VND 347.1 billion, a 126.9% increase.

The average room occupancy rate in the province during the 4-day holiday was about 35%, a 24.9% increase compared to the same period. Phu Quoc Island alone welcomed nearly 75,600 visitors, including almost 15,600 international visitors, a 173% increase compared to 2023. Tourism revenue on the island reached VND 317.4 billion, a 137.9% increase compared to 2023.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau

According to the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Department of Tourism, the total number of visitors to the province for tourism, entertainment, beach bathing, and accommodation at hotels, resorts, and beaches during the 4-day holiday from August 31 to September 3 was approximately 555,984, a 4% increase compared to 2023. The number of staying guests was 122,864, a 7.46% increase compared to 2023, and international visitors numbered 25,561, a 12.12% increase compared to the previous year.

With these results, Mr. Trinh Hang shared that the tourism industry in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province generated a total tourism revenue of approximately VND 333.615 billion during the National Day holiday, an 11.76% increase compared to 2023. Accommodation revenue reached VND 124.107 billion, an 11.36% increase compared to the previous year.
