On September 3, tourist attractions, travel spots, and beaches in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province witnessed a drop in visitor numbers, with roads clearing up and fewer vehicles. As the four-day holiday came to a close, tourists began their journey back home.

According to the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Tourism Department, from August 31 to September 3, security and order were maintained, and the province’s beaches, amusement parks, tourist sites, and accommodation facilities attracted more than 565,000 visitors (a 6.6% increase compared to 2023), with tourism revenue exceeding VND 348 billion.
This is quite an impressive figure, considering that heavy and prolonged rainfall occurred throughout the four-day holiday. Over 130,000 visitors stayed in accommodation facilities (an increase of over 17%), including more than 25,000 international visitors (up by 12.12% compared to 2023). Lodging revenue also increased by more than 13%, amounting to over VND 128 billion.
As per the Tourism Department, the occupancy rate in the province during the four days ranged from 80% to 85%. On the first day, it was around 45% due to the continuous rain. Despite the weather, the number of visitors to the province remained high.
Chau Duc District reported that rooms in local tourist areas were fully booked on the nights of September 1 and 2.
To ensure the safety of tourists visiting the province, the Tourism Department worked with several key tourist districts and cities before the holiday to understand their preparations for receiving and serving tourists. The People’s Committees of these districts and cities also developed specific plans to maintain security and order and ensure the safety of visitors.
The Power of the Highway
The Dau Giay – Phan Thiet and Bien Hoa – Vung Tau highways, once operational, will not only reduce congestion on National Highways 1A and 51 but also provide a significant boost to the economies of Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau provinces and the wider region.
“Architect Trần Ngọc Chính: Saigon – Tay Ninh is a Crucial Economic and Tourism Corridor, Saigon’s Masterplan Must Prioritize the Saigon River as its ‘Backbone’”
KTS Trần Ngọc Chính, former Deputy Minister of Construction and Chairman of the Vietnam Urban Development Planning Association, envisions a vibrant “bến dưới thuyền” (a bustling waterfront) along the Saigon River corridor. He proposes the development of a premium tourism infrastructure axis and a modern transportation network, including river, road, and rail connections linking Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi, Nui Ba Den, and Tay Ninh. This, he believes, will create a dynamic and vibrant waterfront atmosphere, mirroring the success of major cities around the world.
