The country’s tourism industry served an estimated 3 million tourists during the four-day holiday from August 31 to September 3, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The average room occupancy rate at tourism accommodation establishments was 56%, a rise of 1.85% from the 2023 holiday period.

On September 3, Hanoi’s Department of Tourism announced that the total number of tourists visiting Hanoi during the four-day break was estimated at 672,900, a 5% increase from 2023.
International tourist arrivals were estimated at 58,900, a significant 35.8% jump from the previous year. Key markets included India, South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, the US, and the UK, among others.
Domestic tourist arrivals were estimated at 614,000, a slight 3.6% increase from the previous year. Total tourism revenue exceeded VND 2,180 billion, an 8.3% rise from the same period last year.

Statistics from popular tourist destinations indicate a consistent increase in visitor numbers compared to previous years. Specifically, Hanoi Zoo welcomed 76,671 visitors, while the walking street area around Hoan Kiem Lake attracted approximately 47,000 visitors. The Hoa Lo Prison relic site received 28,020 visitors, and both the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the Temple of Literature welcomed over 22,000 visitors each. Other popular spots included the Thien Duong Bao Son Park, the Son Tay walking street and Son Tay Citadel, and the Ao Vua tourist area, each drawing thousands of visitors.
During the four-day holiday, the average room occupancy rate in hotels and tourist apartments reached approximately 61.2%, a 1.7% increase from 2023.
Some 4-5 star hotels and luxury apartment blocks reported high occupancy rates, such as Fraser Suites Hanoi (90%), Pullman Hanoi (100%), Sheraton (91.3%), and Novotel Thai Ha (82.3%). There was a notable surge in tourists choosing destinations in the outskirts of the capital.
According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang, Director of Hanoi’s Department of Tourism, security and order were maintained, ensuring the safety of visitors. No negative incidents were reported. The department’s hotline provided support and information to over 90 tourists, ensuring a warm welcome and satisfactory experience.
