Travel to Multiple Destinations and Win Big This 2-9 Holiday

During the 4-day holiday period from September 2nd, Khanh Hoa province recorded an estimated 175,200 tourist arrivals, a 14.6% increase compared to the same period last year. The province's tourism director, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, shared that approximately 403,000 visitors were recorded at various attractions, marking a 15% rise from the previous year.

Total revenue is estimated at VND 756.3 billion. Cam Ranh International Airport served approximately 450 flight take-offs and landings, serving approximately 76,845 passengers, an increase of 8% compared to the same period.

This time, Binh Thuan province welcomed approximately 385,000 visitors, an increase of 3.3 times compared to 2023. The average room occupancy rate was 80-95%, with many facilities reaching full capacity. Total revenue was about VND 510 billion.

Despite the unfavorable weather, the number of tourists visiting Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, during this holiday increased by more than 10% compared to the same period in 2023, estimated at 100,000 arrivals. Of which, there were 92,800 domestic visitors with 68,200 staying guests; international visitors reached 7,200 arrivals with 6,800 staying guests. Overall, Lam Dong province welcomed approximately 132,000 tourists during the 4-day National Day holiday, up 10% from the previous year.

During this time, Quang Ngai province welcomed about 93,400 tourists, an increase of 1.8 times compared to the same period last year.

On September 3, Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Tourism announced that during the 4-day holiday, about 980,000 tourists visited entertainment and tourist attractions in the city, an increase of 2% compared to the same period, with revenue of about VND 3,000 billion.

The total number of tourists visiting Hanoi is estimated at 672,900 arrivals, an increase of 5%, and the total revenue is estimated at more than VND 2,180 billion, an increase of 8.3% compared to the same period in 2023. Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh provinces welcomed 395,700 and 374,000 visitors, respectively; with a total revenue of VND 870.5 billion and nearly VND 650 billion, respectively, increases of 31.3% and 182.6% compared to 2023.

During the 4-day holiday, the country’s tourism industry served about 3 million tourists, an increase of 20%, and the average room occupancy rate was 56%, an increase of 1.85% compared to the 4-day National Day holiday in 2023.

Double Delight as Exchange Rates Cool Off

The Vietnamese currency market has witnessed a positive trend recently, with the VND/USD exchange rate cooling off. The USD has dropped below the 25,000 VND mark. On August 29, 2024, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) set the daily reference exchange rate at 24,221 VND per USD, an increase of 9 VND from the previous session, but a decrease of 29 VND from the previous week. The SBV’s trading arm maintained the buying rate for USD at 23,400 VND while increasing the selling rate to 25,382 VND per USD.
