Ms. Mai is the owner of the Mailisa Beauty Salon chain, which originated from the Mailisa Aesthetic Specialty Clinic established in 1998. Born into a farming family in Tan Dan, Duc Tho, Ha Tinh, Ms. Mai experienced a challenging childhood. With an illiterate mother and the loss of her father at a young age, she had to accompany her mother to the forest to collect firewood and sell vegetables and fish at the market. Determined to escape poverty, she took on various jobs, including working as a factory worker in a shoe company, assisting in food stalls, and trading goods such as duck eggs, grilled corn, and dried fish. A chance encounter with a customer in the hair industry sparked her interest in the field, and she quickly progressed from an assistant to a full-fledged hairstylist. She eventually opened her own salon and expanded her skills to include makeup and aesthetics.

Ms. Mai attributes her success to her hard work and perseverance, stating that her initial endeavors in the hair industry allowed her to build the prosperous beauty empire she enjoys today. Since 2018, the Mailisa brand has gained significant media attention, offering a range of services such as tattooing, cosmetic surgery, and cosmetic sales through multiple branches across various provinces and cities. Ms. Mai and her husband frequently showcase their affluent lifestyle and business ventures on social media platforms like Tiktok and Facebook. While the exact revenue of the company remains undisclosed, Ms. Mai has shared that their monthly payroll for employees reaches tens of billions of dollars, with the lowest-paid janitorial staff earning over 10 million VND, and salaries in other departments soaring to hundreds of millions of VND.

The couple also enjoys sharing their passion for supercars, with a collection worth hundreds of billions of VND. Their fleet includes the Lamborghini Aventador S LP 740-4, Ferrari 488 Pista Spider, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Aston Martin Vantage, and Morgan Plus Six. They also own an array of luxurious motorcycles, such as the Honda Gold Wing, KTM Brabus 1300 R, and Harley-Davidson V-Rod. During their recent housewarming celebration, these supercars were proudly displayed in front of their new mansion. The couple often showcases their vehicles during grand openings of their beauty salons, anniversaries, and birthdays, reflecting their love for extravagance and luxury. They have a unique philosophy when it comes to their car collection—only opting for rare and beautiful models, and never purchasing the same car twice if there’s already one in Vietnam.

The couple often shares photos of themselves alongside their expensive cars.

Additionally, the couple recently brought their Koenigsegg Regera back to Vietnam after a two-year absence for repairs, incurring a total cost of approximately 9 billion VND. This supercar is one of only 80 Regeras produced globally and the first to be owned in Southeast Asia. Mr. Hoang Kim Khanh is also anticipating the delivery of a McLaren 750S Spider convertible supercar (with a listed price of 7.6 billion VND) and the limited-edition Lamborghini SIan, one of only 63 models worldwide, to add to his impressive collection this year.
