Cua Lo town boasts 40 tangible cultural heritages that have been included in the inventory list, including 13 ranked sites. These comprise 4 national sites (Van Loc Temple, Hoang Van family temple, Mai Bang Temple, and the tomb and house of Nguyen Trong Dat) and 9 provincial sites.

In addition to tangible cultural heritages, Cua Lo is also home to 97 intangible cultural heritages across 6 forms. The town hosts 5 traditional festivals that are held periodically every 2-3 years, as well as an annual Tourism Festival.

Mr. Hoang Van Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Cua Lo Town People’s Committee, shared with Nghe An Newspaper that thanks to the diverse range of cultural heritage types, the town has attracted a large number of tourists and local visitors. Major heritage sites in the area, such as Van Loc Temple, Mai Bang Temple, and Bau Loi Temple, each receive approximately 15 million visitors annually.

To preserve cultural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism development, the town has formulated appropriate policies to encourage, incentivize, and support businesses in cultural heritage conservation efforts, especially those linked to socio-economic development.

Additionally, the town provides information and essential skills to businesses, enabling them to effectively engage in the protection and promotion of cultural heritage values. This helps businesses understand their unique role in a special field that combines economic activities with cultural heritage preservation.

Furthermore, Cua Lo has established regulations for businesses benefiting from cultural heritage to reinvest in its preservation as part of their corporate strategies. These businesses are expected to voluntarily allocate a portion of their profits from heritage exploitation back into heritage conservation, thereby further promoting and safeguarding these invaluable assets.
