On the afternoon of September 6th, the People’s Committee of Ngo Quyen District (Hai Phong City) and the People’s Committee of Van My Ward (Ngo Quyen District), along with relevant authorities, were expediting preparations to evacuate 5,400 households from old apartment buildings and unsafe areas ahead of the approaching storm.

Earlier, at a meeting on storm response measures, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee, made the decision to evacuate residents to ensure their safety as Storm No. 3 was expected to make landfall.

According to the plan, approximately 4,600 households in Ngo Quyen (3,800), Hong Bang (400), and Le Chan (400) districts would be relocated starting at 2 pm on September 6th until completion.

Classrooms at Thai Phien High School served as temporary shelters for the evacuated residents.

Reporters from Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper observed authorities surveying and allocating classroom areas at Thai Phien High School to accommodate the evacuated residents.

Officials stated that the evacuation and provision of essential supplies commenced promptly at 2 pm to ensure the safety of the residents.
