Iconic Saigon Hotel Embarks on a New Chapter as JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon |
Marriott International and Mapletree Investments have entered into an agreement for the operation of Mapletree Investments’ hotel and apartment complex in Ho Chi Minh City.
Marriott International takes over management from IGH for the InterContinental Saigon hotel, which will be rebranded as JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon on September 10, 2024, marking the end of an era for InterContinental Saigon (September 9, 2009 – September 9, 2024). Mapletree, on the other hand, will upgrade the hotel as part of its plan to renovate the adjacent mPlaza complex.
In July and August, InterContinental Saigon bid farewell to its staff with a series of events. With this new operation, Marriott International adds a third JW-branded hotel to its portfolio in Vietnam, including JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi and JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa.
JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon boasts a 21-story hotel tower and a 31-story serviced apartment tower. Strategically located on Hai Ba Trung and Le Duan streets in District 1, the property is surrounded by Ho Chi Minh City’s top attractions such as Ben Thanh Market, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Independence Palace, Thao Cam Vien, and Turtle Lake.
JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon becomes Marriott International’s 24th hotel in Vietnam and its 5th property in Ho Chi Minh City, joining renowned brands such as Sheraton, Le Méridien, Renaissance, and Autograph Collection.
As InterContinental bids farewell to Saigon, it continues to manage other prominent hotels in Vietnam, including InterContinental Nha Trang, InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, InterContinental Hanoi Westlake, InterContinental Halong Bay Resort, InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, and InterContinental Grand Ho Tram.
