Responding to the directive from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on directing, mobilizing, and registering support for people affected by Storm No. 3 (Yagi), the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tien Giang province has developed a plan and actively deployed this work, promptly delivering gifts to the affected families.

Accordingly, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tien Giang province sent a document to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the initiative to call for support for the victims of Storm No. 3 in the Northern provinces; launching a campaign among all officials, civil servants, public employees, and armed forces to donate one day’s salary; and encouraging agencies, units, and philanthropists with the need to voluntarily contribute to the Provincial Relief Fund.

As an immediate response, the Tien Giang Provincial Relief Fund has transferred 2 billion VND to the Central Relief Fund to assist people in the North. Quang Nam province also contributed 1 billion VND from its budget to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support people in the affected provinces and cities. Quang Nam province established two working groups to visit and provide financial support to the aforementioned provinces and cities.

Following the direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee calls on all strata of the people in the province to contribute. Those who are more fortunate are encouraged to give more, and those with limited means can contribute within their capacity, even if it’s just a small amount, to support our fellow countrymen in the North affected by natural disasters and floods,” he added.
