Binh Duong, the wood processing hub of Vietnam, has achieved remarkable export success, with a turnover of over US$4.2 billion in the first eight months of this year.
Wood processing enterprises in the province have shared that new orders are continuously pouring into their factories, indicating a busy year ahead. This presents a valuable opportunity for businesses to boost their production and export activities.
Mr. Nguyen Liem, Chairman of the Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA), asserted that the wood industry is witnessing a strong recovery, evident in the significant growth in export turnover.
“The United States remains our largest export market, with growth exceeding 20% compared to the forecast. Specifically, in August alone, the wood processing industry in the province achieved an export turnover of over US$628 million, an increase of nearly 25% compared to July. For the first eight months of the year, the turnover surpassed US$4.2 billion, a rise of more than 24% over the same period last year,” shared Mr. Liem.
This growth reflects the rebounding global consumer demand and the increasing alignment of Vietnamese products with international standards.
Local businesses have effectively adapted to the new market requirements by investing in green production and a clean supply chain, as well as embracing digitalization.
“Enterprises are focusing not only on quantity but also on quality, ensuring that wood products meet the stringent requirements of importers,” added Mr. Liem.
The Binh Duong Furniture Association continues to play a pivotal role in connecting businesses with international markets, facilitating trade promotion activities, and providing training to enhance product design and development skills.
The Vietnamese wood industry aims to achieve an export turnover of over US$15 billion by the end of this year, with Binh Duong leading the way. The province is committed to sustainable production practices and market expansion to strengthen the export capacity of this key industry.
Ms. Do Thi Kim Loan, Director of Sao Nam Company in Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park, shared that her company has received numerous new orders from major partners following market fluctuations.
“We are witnessing a strong comeback in orders, especially from the North American and European markets. This encourages us to invest in upgrading our production lines and enhancing the quality of our products,” said Ms. Loan.
To sustain this growth momentum, wood processing enterprises in Binh Duong are making significant investments in technology, marketing, and capacity building. The industry is embracing the green production model, leveraging digital technology, and enhancing market research skills to better cater to the preferences of international consumers.
