Cát Bi International Airport is one of four airports that had to temporarily cease operations due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3 (YAGI), according to the Vietnam Aviation Authority. As per the announcement, Cát Bi Airport was scheduled to be closed from 5 am to 4 pm on September 7th.

On the afternoon of September 6th, Cát Bi International Airport was noticeably quieter than usual after authorities announced the temporary closure to ensure safety and preparedness for Typhoon No. 3.

On September 6th, Cát Bi International Airport had a limited number of flights to and from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, and Dalat. The latest flight of the day departed from Cát Bi at 8:55 pm.

According to Tien Phong’s reporter, since the afternoon of September 6th, only two counters were open in the domestic flight check-in hall to assist passengers with their travel procedures. The number of passengers was relatively low.

As the departure time approached, some passengers arrived at the check-in counters. The scene was significantly quieter compared to previous days.

In the international flight check-in area, only a handful of foreign tourists were present, completing their travel procedures.

The international terminal was closed off with ropes as there were no more international flights scheduled.

Passengers proceeded to the security check area before boarding their domestic flights from Cát Bi Airport.
