The FPT Group’s 36th-birthday sports and performance events in Hanoi and Da Nang, scheduled for September 13th, have been canceled, according to the company’s internal news portal.

These annual events, which are usually attended by a large number of FPT employees, will be replaced by activities to support staff and communities affected by storms and floods, with a focus on rebuilding lives after the natural disasters.

“This decision also underscores FPT’s deep-rooted values of humanity, responsibility to the community, and teamwork – one of the core values that has driven the group’s development journey,” the internal newsletter stated.

The newsletter further emphasized: “By pausing the birthday celebrations and focusing entirely on relief efforts, FPT demonstrates its unwavering commitment to stand with the country in overcoming this challenge.”

This spirit will continue to drive FPT towards achieving future successes, not only in business but also in bringing value to the communities it serves.

The 36th-anniversary celebration will be a simplified and intimate event, featuring messages about FPT as well as special segments dedicated to colleagues and communities affected by the storms and floods.

The program is scheduled to be livestreamed on the afternoon of September 13th, allowing global employees to tune in simultaneously. Detailed information about the program will be shared via the group’s internal channels.

FPT Group will take actions to support the affected communities.

Prior to this, the FPT Group had been working with its member companies to urgently gather information and provide support to employees severely affected by the storms and floods.

Additionally, the group will take actions to support the wider community in rebuilding lives after the natural disasters.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Chairman of FPT Labor Union, assured that the union and the FPT Community Fund will provide maximum support to employees affected by the third storm and the regions severely hit by floods.

Ms. Ha also shared that, as of September 10th, FPT is doing its utmost to provide timely assistance to employees’ families in flooded or at-risk areas.

“Small boats, life jackets, and food reserves are being rushed by FPT members to the families of colleagues in dangerous areas,” the Labor Union Chairman told the internal news portal.

Southern Technicians Head North to Restore Telecommunications

On September 9th, over 70 technicians from FPT Telecom’s southern branch arrived in Hanoi to assist in restoring telecommunications services after the storm.

Over 70 FPT Telecom technicians from the south are heading north to help restore telecommunications.

As soon as Super Typhoon Yagi moved away from the northern region, FPT Telecom coordinated with relevant parties and mobilized all resources to restore services as soon as possible.

Given the extensive damage caused by the storm, FPT Telecom has developed a specific plan for each locality. Since many provinces are still experiencing widespread power outages, Hanoi will be the first area of focus for restoring services to customers.

FPT Telecom pledges to deploy additional technicians to assist in restoring internet services as soon as power is restored in the affected provinces.

On September 11th, FPT’s stock price on the HoSE closed at over 130,000 VND per share, with a market capitalization of approximately 190,734 billion VND, equivalent to nearly 7 billion USD.
