The People’s Committee of the Province agrees with the proposal from the Department of Planning and Investment dated August 27, 2024, on the termination of the “High-tech Poultry Breeding, Production, and Export Project of Minh Du Binh Dinh.” The project termination is due to the investor’s decision to discontinue the investment project.

The People’s Committee of the Province assigns the Department of Planning and Investment to implement the procedures for terminating the project and related matters as prescribed.

The project, located in Tho Tan Bac village, Nhon Tan commune, An Nhon town, was approved by the Provincial People’s Committee in Decision No. 1137/2020. It covers an area of approximately 80 hectares, with a vision to become a modern and advanced poultry breeding and production hub.

The project’s scale included hatching 32.4 million chicken broilers annually, comprising 2.7 million parent stocks and 29.7 million commercial broilers. Additionally, it involved slaughtering 5.76 million chickens to process approximately 8,640 tons of chicken meat each year.

With a total investment of over VND 537 billion, the project timeline encompassed several phases: February-October 2020 for procedures and land compensation; November 2020-May 2021 for land leveling; June 2021-December 2023 for construction and equipment installation; and January-February 2024 for operation, including evaluating export and import standards.

The project was promoted for its modern techniques and technology, featuring imported European-standard equipment in all stages of production. Once operational, it was expected to create job opportunities for approximately 540 local workers and boost the region’s economy. Additionally, it promised to revolutionize research and technology transfer, particularly in the marketing of chicken broilers and meat to Asian and European countries.

Minh Du Poultry Breeding Company, recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for its technical advancements and new technology in three hybrid combinations of local Minh Du Binh Dinh chicken breeds (MD1.BD, MD2.BD, and MD3.BD), is also acknowledged as a Science and Technology Enterprise by the Binh Dinh Department of Science and Technology.
