In an effort to support customers affected by Typhoon Yagi, Mobifone, a leading telecommunications company, offered exclusive benefits to its prepaid subscribers with a main account balance of less than VND 5,000 as of September 9, 2024, who were residing in the affected provinces, including Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, and Thai Binh. Specifically, eligible customers received a bonus of VND 30,000 in their promotional account, usable for voice and SMS services to any network within seven days from the credit date.

Even before the typhoon made landfall, Mobifone, alongside other network providers, proactively assisted customers by ensuring uninterrupted communication services as Typhoon Yagi intensified. This timely support helped residents stay connected and informed during the storm.

Moreover, Mobifone dispatched additional technical teams to the affected areas immediately after the typhoon. By September 8, Mobifone had successfully restored its network in several provinces, including Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, and Hung Yen, ensuring seamless communication for its customers.

Recognizing the severity of Typhoon Yagi, Mobifone proactively implemented comprehensive preventive measures before the storm’s landfall. These measures included inspecting and reinforcing vulnerable locations, checking infrastructure at base stations, refueling generators, and organizing 24/7 network monitoring in the provinces expected to bear the brunt of the typhoon.

Additionally, Mobifone deployed its best technical teams to the affected areas to provide timely support and help customers deal with the aftermath of the typhoon. As of September 8, Mobifone had successfully restored its network in several provinces, including Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, and Hung Yen.

In Hai Phong City, where widespread power outages and flooding were reported, along with numerous fallen trees, restoring communication services proved challenging. However, with the dedication of hundreds of Mobifone staff members from the Northern Network Center and nearby units focusing on resolving the issues, normal communication services in the city are expected to resume soon.
