Better Choice Awards is a prestigious award organized by the National Center for Innovation in collaboration with VCCorp, under the guidance of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. This award aims to honor, promote, and encourage innovative practices that bring practical benefits to society.
The name of the award reflects our philosophy. We seek better options, not necessarily the best. Our goal is to recognize innovations that bring practical value to users.
Innovation is what sets us apart from other awards. While other awards focus on the best products or services, we believe that there is no “best” as such. Instead, we focus on meeting the diverse needs of consumers.
Our organizing committee believes that there is no “one-size-fits-all” product. What may be best for one person may not be the best for another.
What sets Better Choice Awards 2024 apart from previous years? Are there any new features or categories?
We remain true to our concept from 2023. Better Choice Awards 2024 will continue to have three main award systems.
Smart Choice Awards honors innovations in consumer technology.
Car Choice Awards recognizes the practical value of automobiles for consumers.
Innovative Choice Awards encourages and promotes innovative practices across various industries.
Anyone familiar with automotive awards in Vietnam will notice the distinct categories in Car Choice Awards. We have awards like “Trendsetting Car,” “National Car for Beginners,” “Typical Luxury Car for Families,” and “Typical Family Car.” We believe that family needs play a significant role in car-buying decisions.
In the 2022 Car Choice Awards, the Volvo XC90 won the award for “Typical Luxury Car for Families.” This decision was based on the model’s long-standing reputation and the sentiments it evoked among consumers. We stand by our belief that recognizing such choices aligns with our consumer-centric approach.
In the same year, the Mitsubishi Xpander won the award for “Typical Service Car.” While it may not be the best in its segment, it truly meets the needs of consumers, which is what Better Choice Awards is all about. By focusing on practical value and innovation, we avoid getting caught up in the pursuit of the most expensive or exclusive options.
Better Choice Awards emphasizes two crucial factors: Innovation and Practical Benefits for users.
We have a rigorous selection process with specific criteria. Better Choice Awards has a panel of esteemed judges who are carefully selected for their expertise and influence.
Firstly, they are experts in their respective fields, be it the automotive industry, AI, or technology.
Secondly, they may represent communities with a significant online presence and a large following on social media.
Thirdly, they could be influential individuals or KOLs who positively impact social media platforms.
Lastly, they may be respected leaders of reputable businesses or corporations, both domestically and internationally.
The results are based on a scoring system that combines the judges’ evaluations and consumer votes. This year, we have implemented a new feature where consumers can verify their votes via SMS. Those who verify their votes will have more voting power. After the voting period ends, we will notify the top voters for each brand, whom we affectionately call “brand super-fans.” These brands can then organize mini-games or events to show their appreciation for their loyal fans. To ensure fairness, we require a minimum of four hours between each vote from the same person, so those who vote multiple times deserve recognition and rewards.
Last year, we embarked on a journey called “Road to Better Choice,” where we explored the beauty of Vietnam, connected with its people, and showcased the country’s finest offerings. This journey was documented through stunning visuals and stories shared by the locals we met along the way.
This year, we plan to continue this tradition with a trip to the peak of Phoenix Mountain in Quang Ninh Province. During this expedition, we aim to uncover not only the most breathtaking destinations in Vietnam but also the perfect vehicles to accompany us on this journey.
Additionally, Better Choice Awards 2024 is proud to partner with “Innovate Vietnam 2024,” a two-day event (October 1-2, 2024) showcasing innovations in AI, semiconductors, and green energy solutions, including electric vehicle technology and sustainable energy sources. This event will be held at the National Center for Innovation in Hoa Lac.
Thank you for your insights. We look forward to witnessing the impact of Better Choice Awards 2024 and the positive changes it brings to consumers and the innovative landscape in Vietnam.
Better Choice Awards acknowledges and celebrates “Innovation Breakthroughs” in products, services, and achievements that bring practical benefits to consumers. Instead of seeking the “best choice in the segment,” we focus on meeting the diverse needs of consumers to help them find the most suitable brands and products.
