The impact of Typhoon No. 3, particularly from September 8-9, caused water levels in the Ky Cung River to rise, and an increase in import and export goods to Lang Son. This resulted in a backlog of cargo vehicles heading to the Huu Nghi International Border Gate (Cao Loc district) and long queues on National Highway 1A.
In response, Lang Son province issued a notification stating that from 9 am on September 10, all vehicles carrying goods for export through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate must be diverted to the Tax-free Zone (Tan My commune, Van Lang district) to wait until further notice. Lang Son will waive fees for vehicles parked in this area.

Over 3,100 vehicles were cleared through Lang Son’s border gates on September 7, 8, and 9.
Lieutenant Duong Thanh Tiep, Head of Tan Thanh Border Guard Station, said: “We have deployed more than 20 officers and soldiers in the tax-free zone, including reinforcements from the Provincial Border Guard Command and Tan Thanh Border Guard Station. We will guide the registration and regulate the entry of all vehicles into the yard to reduce congestion on National Highway 1A and manage the flow of vehicles to the Huu Nghi International Border Gate.”
To ensure uninterrupted customs clearance, Lang Son customs officials are on duty 24 hours a day and have provided a hotline to address any issues that may arise during this rainy period. As a result, customs clearance at the border gates has remained stable over the past few days. According to statistics, more than 3,100 vehicles were cleared through Lang Son’s border gates from September 7 to 9.
