3 variants, priced from VND 655 million
As planned, the new generation Mitsubishi Triton was officially launched in the Vietnamese market today (September 11). The car is imported with 3 variants and is priced from VND 655 million.
Variant | Price |
Triton 2WD AT GLX | 655 million |
Triton 2WD AT Premium | 782 million |
Triton 4WD AT Athlete | 924 million |
Thus, Triton no longer offers a manual transmission option. In fact, previously, the Triton MT was only sold to project customers and not to the general public.
For customers who booked early from August 12 to September 10, the company is offering 10 free engine oil and oil filter changes within 5 years or 100,000 km (whichever comes first). This model also comes with an extended warranty of 5 years or 150,000 km (whichever comes first).
Larger dimensions, new design
The 2024 Triton has larger dimensions than its predecessor. The wheelbase has been increased from 3,000 mm to 3,130 mm, and the ground clearance has been raised from 220 mm to 228 mm.
The design of the new Triton has been significantly altered at the front, giving it a more rugged appearance. The LED headlights have been raised higher, closer to the LED positioning lights. The Athlete version exudes sportiness with wheel arch cladding and numerous glossy black details. The vehicle rides on 18-inch wheels, while the base model comes with 16-inch wheels.
The interior of the new Triton has also been expanded to offer more space. According to the manufacturer, the cabin width has been increased by 50 mm.
More modern convenience features
The cabin of the 2024 Triton is far more modern than the previous generation, featuring a new 3-spoke steering wheel and a 9-inch floating screen on the highest-end variant. Another new feature is the standard 7-inch screen behind the steering wheel.
Some notable convenience features on the high-end variant include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a combination of leather and suede upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 6-speaker audio system, and push-button start. This model still uses a mechanical handbrake, unlike its rival, the Ranger, which has an electronic parking brake.
New engine
One of the Triton’s strengths is its new engine, which now makes it more competitive against the Ranger and Hilux. The vehicle is equipped with a new 2.4L bi-turbo engine that produces 204 PS of power and 470 Nm of torque.
The two lower variants are powered by the same 2.4L engine as before, delivering 184 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque.
All three variants are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Athlete variant features electric power steering, 4WD, and 7 off-road drive modes.
Additional ADAS features
The new generation Triton has received notable upgrades in terms of safety technology. The ADAS package, named MMSS, now includes forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring with lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert when reversing, and intelligent automatic headlights.
The two highest variants feature tire pressure monitoring and 7 airbags. The Athlete variant also comes with a 360-degree camera.
