2024 marks a significant year for the Vietnamese market as it welcomes the newest iPhone models earlier than ever before, placing the country in the tier 2 group of markets, with sales commencing just a week after the largest markets.
Specifically, Vietnamese consumers can pre-order the four new iPhone models from midnight on September 20 and officially receive them from September 27.
As soon as the products are officially launched in the international market, the prices for the new iPhone models in Vietnam are also announced. Accordingly, the standard iPhone 16 will range from VND 22.99 million for the 128 GB version to VND 31.99 million for the 512 GB version. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Plus starts at VND 25.99 million, and the iPhone 16 Pro starts at VND 28.99 million.
On the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro Max – the version that often attracts the most interest from Vietnamese users, is priced from VND 34.99 million for the 256 GB version to VND 46.99 million for the 1 TB version.

Thus, the prices of the new iPhone generation remain unchanged from the previous generation.
Predicting the performance of the new iPhones, Mr. Doan Viet Dung, CEO of the ShopDunk retail system, believes that despite the economy’s slow recovery, the interest of Vietnamese consumers in the iPhone 16 continues to grow. “The number of customers interested in the iPhone 16 remains stable and even growing compared to last year, despite the economic challenges. We expect a 15% growth in revenue compared to last year,” said Mr. Dung.
Regarding the most anticipated model, Mr. Dung, along with many experts, predicts that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will continue to lead in sales and revenue. Among the color options, the titanium shade is expected to be the most favored.
He also emphasized that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus this year offer impressive color options, especially the blue hue.

Compared to the previous generation, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus feature notable changes, including a redesigned camera module with two vertically aligned lenses, the addition of the Action button, and the Camera Control touchpad for enhanced photography. This generation also boasts the A18 chip, the same generation as the Pro and Pro Max models, instead of the downgraded chip in the previous generation.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with the premium A18 Pro chip, a thinner bezel design that increases the screen size by 0.2 inches without significantly altering the overall dimensions. The devices also upgrade two of the three rear cameras to perfect the photography experience.
It is unfortunate that the AI features on these products are not yet supported in the Vietnamese market. However, this may not be a significant barrier limiting the purchasing power of Vietnamese users for these products.
