The Danang People’s Committee has instructed the city’s Department of Construction to take charge and coordinate with relevant units to finalize the dossier for the city’s consideration and decision regarding the obstacles at the Restaurant and Marina project in the southern Han River Port area.

The Danang People’s Committee emphasized the need to clarify and provide comprehensive information and records related to the planning policy in the area.

The Restaurant and Marina project is located in a prime area of Danang city

The Danang People’s Committee also requested the Department of Construction to propose orientations and solutions for handling the project, including suggesting compensation values (if any), and addressing the investor’s requests.

The Restaurant and Marina project in the southern Han River Port area was invested in by I.V.C Limited Company, owned by Phan Van Anh Vu (also known as Vu “nhom”), covering an area of over 4,000 square meters.

I.V.C Limited Company leased the land from the Danang People’s Committee at the end of 2015. The construction of the project was completed in 2017. However, before it could be put into use, Phan Van Anh Vu was arrested, and the project has remained closed until now.

The project completed the restaurant construction in 2017

In 2018, Danang city had planned to revoke this project and provide compensation to change its function to serve public purposes.

In early 2019, the Danang City Party Committee assigned the Party Committee of the People’s Committee to work with the investor, encourage the revocation of the project, and study the transformation of the function of the restaurant and marina project towards integrating the activities of the Dien Hai Citadel relic and exploiting it for public use, arranging it as a tourism information center, or demolishing it to create a spacious area on the west bank of the Han River.

The project has been left abandoned, causing an eyesore in a prime location

According to the preliminary estimate by the Party Committee of the Danang People’s Committee, the compensation cost for the invested construction of the restaurant and marina project in the southern Han River Port area is about VND 100 billion, excluding land compensation as the land is leased annually.

However, this estimate has not been realized yet. The abandoned project has caused an eyesore and waste of a prime location in the city.
