On September 12, representatives of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province shared that they had issued a decision on approving adjustments to the task of constructing the Bau Bang district’s regional planning until 2040. This new decision supersedes the previous ones made by the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province in 2019 and 2021. Photo: Bau Bang District Administrative Center.

Consequently, the direct scope of the study encompasses the entire administrative boundary of Bau Bang district, spanning an area of 34,002.11 hectares. It comprises seven administrative units, including six communes (cay Truong II, Hung Hoa, Lai Hung, Long Nguyen, Tan Hung, and Tru Van Tho) and the township of Lai Uyen. The district borders Chon Thanh district (Binh Phuoc province) to the north, Ben Cat city to the south, Phu Giao district to the east, and Dau Tieng district to the west.

As per the decision, the planning ratio is 1/25,000. The planning timeline is divided into two phases: a short-term phase up to 2030 and a long-term phase extending until 2040.

The decision, signed by Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province, clearly states that the goal of approving adjustments to the planning task is to concretize the planning of Binh Duong province for the period of 2021–2030, with a vision towards 2050; to specify the socio-economic development orientations of Bau Bang district; and to materialize the goal of building new-style rural districts in the province.

Among the orientations is for Bau Bang district to accomplish the criteria for new-style rural areas, paving the way for striving in subsequent phases to attain the indicators of a type-III city and become a provincial town.

Binh Duong province envisions Bau Bang as a district developing in the direction of industry-service-agriculture, prioritizing the growth of industrial services, and potentially becoming the “Innovation-Industry Center” in the northern part of Binh Duong province in the future. It serves as the northern gateway of Binh Duong province, connecting to Binh Phuoc province and the Central Highlands region via National Highway 13.

Bau Bang district plays a pivotal role as the northern economic zone of Binh Duong province, exerting mutual influence and integration with the economic space of Dau Tieng and Phu Giao districts, as well as Ben Cat city. It is an area dedicated to the development of multi-sector industries, particularly agro-forestry processing, a complex of cultural and sports facilities, regional-level healthcare and educational institutions, regional commercial and service centers, eco-tourism, and cultural-historical tourism.

The aspiration is for Bau Bang township to attain the criteria of a type-III city and become a provincial town under Binh Duong province. The projected population for 2030 is approximately 320,000 to 350,000 people, increasing to around 480,000 to 500,000 people by 2040.

Currently, Bau Bang district is home to four operational industrial parks and two large-scale industrial parks under construction, attracting investments in green industry.

The industrial parks in Bau Bang district boast synchronized and modern infrastructure, enjoying a favorable location adjacent to major transportation arteries such as National Highway 13, My Phuoc-Tan Van road, and Bac Tan Uyen-Phu Giao-Bau Bang road. These roads provide seamless connectivity to Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Long An, neighboring provinces, and the Central Highlands region.
