At the meeting on addressing the aftermath of Storm No. 3, ensuring the timely and adequate resolution of benefits for social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance participants, Vietnam Social Security’s General Director Nguyen The Manh instructed the provincial/municipal social insurance agencies to assign officers on standby at critical healthcare facilities.
They should immediately address any procedural issues, such as health insurance cards or referral letters, to ensure that patients receive timely medical treatment.
The Vietnam Social Security leader also instructed localities to implement multiple supportive measures for citizens and businesses, ensuring uninterrupted enjoyment of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance benefits and policies.
To continue safeguarding the interests of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance participants, especially given the severe damage caused by Storm No. 3, General Director Nguyen The Manh directed the units and provincial/municipal social insurance agencies to directly coordinate with relevant agencies to flexibly perform their tasks.
This ensures that citizens and patients receive their full social insurance and health insurance benefits with the most straightforward and swift procedures. He also instructed assigning leaders and officers on standby to resolve any issues regarding these benefits.
For areas directly affected by the storm (with severe damage, transportation disruptions, infrastructure interruptions, communication difficulties, power outages, and water shortages), officers should be dispatched alongside relevant sectors and agencies to directly serve the people and promptly resolve social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance-related matters.
Regarding health insurance-covered medical examinations and treatment, the General Director of Social Insurance requested that the directors of social insurance agencies at all levels must ensure that people can access healthcare and protect their health, despite any interruptions in transportation, infrastructure, or physical facilities after storms and floods.
In cases of power outages or internet unavailability for updating patient data, direct procedures should be implemented. Priority should be given to patients with critical illnesses, life-threatening conditions, or those who have suffered accidents or injuries from storm and flood-affected areas.
