In the spirit of mutual support and solidarity, many people have come together to contribute and extend a helping hand to the people facing immense difficulties in the northern provinces of Vietnam, which were severely affected by the third storm. Notably, this outpouring of support has not only come from within the country but also from a faraway land in Africa.

On the YouTube channel of Cong Giap, a member of the Africa team, instead of the usual farming and livestock content, he shared a very meaningful gesture from his landlord in Angola.

Cong Giap narrated the challenges faced by the people of Vietnam due to the storm, including flooding, heavy rains, and waterlogging, which have impacted lives and claimed victims. This narrative touched the landlord, who expressed his condolences and empathy.

Moved by the situation, the landlord unexpectedly went inside and took out an amount of 20,000 Kz (equivalent to 500,000 VND) to give to Cong Giap.

“It is heart-wrenching to see the Vietnamese people in distress. I want to share my humble contribution, even though it is small. The Vietnamese have helped the people of Angola tremendously, and now it is our turn to act. Despite our poverty, we are forever grateful,” he expressed.

Cong Giap was left speechless and deeply touched by the landlord’s gesture. Even though they had only known each other for a little over two months, Cong Giap recognized the landlord’s kindness and generosity. He refused to accept the money and asked the landlord to keep it for his own expenses.

However, the landlord insisted that even though the amount was small, it could be used to buy books, pens, and notebooks to support students when they return to school.

Touched by the noble gesture of the people of Angola, Cong Giap decided to convert the amount to VND and donate it to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

There are many similarities between Vietnam and Angola. The two countries share a traditional relationship of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation, dating back to their mutual support during their respective national liberation struggles. Today, thanks to the Africa team, this bond continues to strengthen.
