The construction of the North-South Expressway in Binh Dinh Province, spanning 118 km and consisting of three sub-projects – Quang Ngai-Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon-Quy Nhon, and Quy Nhon-Chi Thanh – is making remarkable strides ahead of schedule. Construction units are actively participating in the “500 Nights and Days to Complete 3,000 km of Expressways” campaign.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Director of Project Management Unit 85, contractors have mobilized over 100 construction sites, nearly 1,000 equipment and machinery units, and more than 1,500 engineers and workers. As of the end of August, the Hoai Nhon-Quy Nhon sub-project has achieved 49.72% progress, with a construction value of VND 3,800 billion.
Package 11-XL, undertaken by the Truong Son Construction Corporation, has completed 82% of the embankment work and is expected to open all 14 bridges on the route by the end of September. Package 12-XL is executed by a joint venture of Son Hai Group Joint Stock Company, Phuc Loc, Cienco 8, and Truong Thinh contractors. As shared by Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, in charge of Package XL12, they have asphalted over 13 km so far and are determined to finish ahead of schedule.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luan, Commander of Cienco 8, the unit responsible for four bridges in Package 12-XL, shared that all bridges were connected by the end of August, including the 760-meter-long, 19-span Con River Bridge. They have completed the K98 road embankment and aim to finish asphalt paving by the end of September.
The Quang Ngai-Hoai Nhon sub-project, spanning 118 km, is the largest among the 12 sub-projects of the North-South Expressway in the 2021-2025 period. Package XL03 is undertaken by the Deo Ca Group, with the highlight being a 3,200-meter-long tunnel between Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh provinces.
The tunnel management board of Deo Ca Company shared that the units are working tirelessly to complete the project ahead of schedule. As of now, the left tunnel has been excavated to a length of 1,500 meters, and the right tunnel to 1,619 meters, with the expected completion in March 2025, eight months ahead of the contract schedule. The goal is to open the Quang Ngai-Hoai Nhon section in December 2025, nearly six months ahead of the overall schedule.
The Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee has actively supported the contractors by resolving issues related to site clearance, relocating technical infrastructure, and providing construction materials to ensure the progress and quality of the project.
