In the latest announcement, Hoan An Financial Investment Joint Stock Company has registered to purchase 20.5 million shares of Nhat Viet Securities Joint Stock Company (code VFS). The transaction is expected to take place from September 16 to October 15, 2024. Prior to the transaction, Hoan An Financial Investment did not hold any shares in VFS.
Hoan An Financial Investment is an organization related to Ms. Nghiem Phuong Nhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VFS. Ms. Nghiem Phuong Nhi was elected as Chairman of the Board of VFS in April this year. At Hoan An Financial Investment, Ms. Nhi also holds the position of Chairman of the Board. In addition, she is also Chairman of the Board of Amber Capital.
If successful in purchasing the full registered amount, Hoan An Financial Investment will hold more than 17% of VFS’s capital, thereby becoming the largest shareholder of Nhat Viet Securities. Tentatively calculated at market price, the amount of money needed is about VND 267 billion.

VFS stock price movement in the past year
Currently, Mr. Tran Anh Thang, Vice Chairman and General Director, is the largest shareholder of VFS, holding more than 15.6 million shares, equivalent to 13.01%. The other two large shareholders are Electric Power Finance Joint Stock Company (code EVF) – holding 12 million shares (equivalent to 10%) and Amber Capital Holdings JSC – holding 8.8 million shares (equivalent to 7.33%).
In terms of business results, operating revenue in the first 6 months of 2024 reached nearly VND 113 billion, down 16% over the same period last year, mainly due to the sharp decrease in profit from FVTPL assets, while profit from lending and receivables and brokerage revenue improved. As a result, 6-month net profit after tax reached over VND 57 billion, up 30% over the same period last year.
Entering 2024, VFS sets a target of VND 282 billion in revenue, up 15%, and VND 124 billion in after-tax profit, up 45%. Thus, after the first half of the year, the company has completed 46% of the profit plan for the whole year.
