With a total investment of nearly VND 4 trillion and a total area of 8.6 hectares, AEON MALL Hue is the largest commercial and service center in Central Vietnam. It is also the first shopping mall of the AEON Group in this region.

Prior to this, AEON MALL was only present in key economic areas of the country, including Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Hanoi, and Haiphong.

In Vietnam, the last time this Japanese giant opened a shopping mall was nearly four years ago, when AEON MALL Haiphong Le Chan debuted in December 2020.

According to Thua Thien Hue newspaper, AEON MALL hosts 80 brands making their first appearance in Hue, much to the anticipation of many local residents. Notable names introduced at this new mall include MUJI, H&M, AEON supermarket, and Galaxy cinema, to name a few.

This year, in addition to the mall in Hue, the AEON Group also plans to open two more centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, while also launching new specialty stores and smaller supermarkets.

Earlier in mid-May, the AEON Group also started constructing its eighth mall in Tan An City, Long An Province. This commercial center is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.

In a press release published on July 18, the AEON Group identified Vietnam as its second most important market after Japan for investment expansion. The group underlined its commitment to making its comprehensive retail business a core pillar of its operations in Vietnam.
