“Free Measles Vaccination Campaign: Long Châu’s Initiative for a Healthier Community”

Collaborating with the Health Authority to Care for the Community’s Health

After a thorough evaluation, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has entrusted Long Chau Vaccination Center to join hands in the campaign to provide free measles-rubella vaccinations. This initiative aims to accelerate immunization coverage for children who have not been vaccinated or are under-vaccinated, swiftly containing the measles outbreak in the city.

The Long Chau Vaccination Center system will receive the measles-rubella vaccines from the district-level medical centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Thu Duc City. We will then proceed to offer completely free vaccinations to the specified target groups. With our extensive reach, state-of-the-art infrastructure, optimized vaccine storage system that meets GSP standards, and a team of experienced medical professionals who adhere to safe vaccination practices, the Long Chau Vaccination Center system will serve as the effective “extended arm” of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control in the fight against this outbreak and in ensuring effective disease prevention.

Free Measles-Rubella Vaccination for Children Aged 1 to 10 Years Old Who Lack Sufficient Measles Antigen in Ho Chi Minh City

To meet the community’s vaccination needs and accelerate the coverage of measles-rubella prevention, starting from September 16, 2024, all Long Chau Vaccination Centers in Ho Chi Minh City will participate in the campaign to provide free measles vaccinations for children aged 1 to 10 years old.

Consequently, all children within this age group in the city who have not received or have not completed the two doses of the measles vaccine in the past month will be required to participate in this vaccination campaign. All mandatory vaccination cases will be entirely free of charge when vaccinated at the Ho Chi Minh City Long Chau Vaccination Center system.

Parents with children in this age group should check their child’s Vaccination Card or Vaccination Booklet to be aware of their child’s vaccination status. In case of a lost Vaccination Booklet or unclear information, you can visit the nearest Long Chau Vaccination Center for consultation and support without incurring any related costs.

The Long Chau Vaccination Centers will also operate at full capacity, continuously from 07:30 to 17:00 daily, including Saturdays and Sundays, to serve the people and ensure the swift and effective implementation of the Department of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control’s disease control campaign.

Easier Vaccination Information Tracking at Long Chau Vaccination Center

Prior to vaccination, doctors at Long Chau Vaccination Center will verify the child’s personal information and measles vaccination history on the National Vaccination Information System. This information will also be integrated into the “Electronic Vaccination Booklet” feature on the “Long Chau – Drug Expert” application, allowing parents to easily search, check, and monitor their child’s vaccination history at their convenience.

Near Phan Huy Ich Elementary School

From September 16, 2024, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, there will be an additional 60 measles vaccination sites at private medical facilities (operating continuously, including Saturdays and Sundays) to facilitate parents in taking their children for vaccination.

Previously, FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company had sent a document to the Department of Health expressing its desire to participate in the campaign to provide free measles vaccination for children, following the guidance of the health sector.

The Department of Health requested that the above-mentioned company direct its affiliated vaccination facilities to coordinate with the local medical centers in implementing the free measles vaccination campaign until its conclusion. The vaccine supply for this campaign will be provided by the local medical centers.
