Instead of a Drive-thru service, the McDonald’s Ben Thanh restaurant featured a special “To Go” counter, allowing busy customers to conveniently purchase meals, drinks, and desserts without stepping inside the restaurant.
McDonald’s had previously shared its plans to potentially open 100 stores in Vietnam in the next decade, but as of now, there are only 36 McDonald’s restaurants in major provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Binh Duong, and Khanh Hoa.
In related news, Starbucks Vietnam also recently announced the closure of its Reserve Han Thuyen store in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, after seven years of operation. The Reserve Han Thuyen store was considered a “legendary” and beloved location for many customers.
Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen, which opened in 2017, was the first and only Reserve store in Ho Chi Minh City up until this point. It is one of only two Reserve stores in Vietnam, with the other being located in Hanoi’s Nha Tho street.
