VinFast made its official entry into the international market with the launch of its affordable mini electric car, the VinFast VF 3, in the Philippines on the morning of September 17, according to Filipino media. The VF 3 is positioned as a stylish and minimalist small SUV.

The VF 3 is offered in nine different colors in the Philippines, with dimensions of 3,190 x 1,679 x 1,622 mm and a wheelbase of 2,075 mm. Its compact size makes it easy to maneuver through the narrow streets of Metro Manila, the country’s most populous urban area. With a ground clearance of 191 mm, the VF 3 can also navigate uneven terrain with ease.

The VF 3’s interior features a two-tone dashboard and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that also serves as the instrument cluster. It comfortably seats four people, and the luggage space offers a capacity of 285 liters with the rear seats folded. Other notable features include a push-button gear selector, USB charging ports, and a two-spoke steering wheel.

Under the hood, the VF 3 is powered by a 43 horsepower (32 kW) electric motor that produces 110 Nm of torque and drives the rear wheels. It can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 5.3 seconds. Equipped with an 18.64 kWh battery, the VF 3 has an impressive range of over 200 km on a single charge. Charging is convenient, taking only 36 minutes to charge from 10% to 70%. Each vehicle also comes with a portable charger.

During the initial launch period, the VinFast VF 3 is offered at a promotional price of PHP 605,000 (approximately USD 266,000) for the battery leasing option. The price increases to PHP 705,000 (approximately USD 310,000) if you choose to purchase the battery. After September 30, the suggested retail prices will be PHP 645,000 (approximately USD 284,000) for the lease option and PHP 745,000 (approximately USD 328,000) for the battery purchase option.

Similar to the offering in Vietnam, customers in the Philippines can also opt for a custom paint color for an additional PHP 40,000 (approximately USD 17,600) on top of the standard nine color options.

The VF 3 comes with a 7-year or 160,000 km warranty, an 8-year unlimited-kilometer warranty for the battery, and free maintenance and battery replacement if the battery capacity drops below 70% for those who opt for the battery subscription package.

In the Philippines, the VinFast VF 3 will compete with rivals such as the Jetour Ice Cream EV, priced at PHP 699,000 (approximately USD 356,000), and the DFSK Candy, priced at PHP 658,000 (approximately USD 290,000). With its competitive pricing and features, the VinFast VF 3 is positioned as a strong contender in the Filipino market.
