The Prime Minister Leads Steering Committee for Developing a Proposal on Regional and International Financial Center Initiative

The Steering Committee is responsible for researching and proposing directions, tasks, and solutions for the construction and implementation of the Project for a Regional and International Financial Center. The Committee ensures that the proposed plans are feasible, effective, and adaptable to practical situations, with the ultimate goal of maximizing the potential and advantages of Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed Decision 987/QD-TTg dated September 15, 2024, on the consolidation of the Steering Committee for the Development of the Regional and International Financial Center Project (the “Steering Committee”).

Accordingly, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is the Head of the Steering Committee.

Minister of Planning and Investment, Nguyen Chi Dung, is the Vice Head of the Steering Committee.

Prime Minister inspects the sea reclamation study area and Lien Chieu Port project in Danang.

The members include: Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment; Mr. Nguyen Duc Chi, Deputy Minister of Finance; Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of Defense; and Mr. Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Mr. Pham Duc Long, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; Mr. Tran Quy Kien, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Ms. Dang Hoang Oanh, Deputy Minister of Justice; Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Vice Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Ms. Mai Thi Thu Van, Deputy Chief of the Government Office; Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; and Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee.

The Steering Committee for the Development of the Regional and International Financial Center Project was established according to Decision No. 1160/QD-TTg dated October 6, 2023, of the Prime Minister. The Steering Committee is tasked with providing consultancy to the Government and the Prime Minister, as well as researching, directing, and coordinating the resolution of important and inter-sectoral tasks during the project’s development.

The Steering Committee is also responsible for researching and proposing to the Prime Minister orientations and solutions for the project’s development. It assists the Prime Minister in directing, harmonizing, and coordinating the efforts of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, Government agencies, and localities in the project’s implementation.
