This is due to the high demand for durian trees as they are currently in the rainy season, which is ideal for planting fruit trees, and the high income that durians can bring.

The shortage of durian rootstock for bud grafting has caused an increase in the price of durian saplings. The province has seen a significant increase in durian planting area, with a nearly 700-hectare expansion compared to the previous year. The two most popular durian varieties in the province are Ri6 and Monthong, with a total planting area of over 2,500 hectares. Approximately 1,000 hectares of durian trees are ready for harvest, yielding an average of 14-16 tons of fruit per hectare.
