The People’s Committee of Vung Tau City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, has issued notices of forced land retrieval for an area of over 38,800 square meters at the 28-hectare Bai Sau area. This land belongs to the Construction Company of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province (now known as VRC Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company), which has failed to hand over the site as per regulations.
Currently, there are assets belonging to two businesses on this land: Hai Duong International Tourism Joint Stock Company, occupying over 15,341 square meters, and Vung Tau International Tourism Joint Stock Company, with an area of more than 23,558 square meters.

So far, 7 out of 9 businesses have handed over the land for project implementation
Previously, on September 9, Vung Tau City issued a decision approving the plan to organize the enforcement of the land retrieval decision against the Construction Company of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. This was followed by a decision to notify the two businesses of the enforced land retrieval.
The enforcement is scheduled to take place over five days, starting at 8 a.m. on September 25. In case the businesses fail to remove their assets from the land, the People’s Committee of Ward 8 will be tasked with sealing and relocating the assets from the enforcement area.
According to the People’s Committee of Vung Tau City, before proceeding with the enforcement decisions, there will be a dialogue with the two businesses to encourage them to voluntarily dismantle and retrieve their assets. If they do not comply, the enforcement will be carried out as per regulations.

Vung Tau City has broken ground on the Thuy Van Road Improvement Project, which is expected to be completed by April 2025
In July 2024, Vung Tau City sent a document to the two businesses, requesting them to dismantle and relocate their assets and hand over the land to the People’s Committee of Vung Tau City for the implementation of the Thuy Van Road Improvement Project. Subsequently, a decision was made to enforce the retrieval against these businesses.
The businesses then requested to self-dismantle, leading to a temporary halt in the enforcement decision by the People’s Committee of Vung Tau City. However, as of now, the businesses have not relocated their assets from the land.
Previously, Vung Tau City retrieved the entire 28-hectare Bai Sau area to implement the Thuy Van Road Improvement Project, with a total investment of over VND 1,094 billion. Nine businesses were leasing this land from the Construction Company of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province for tourism purposes. So far, 7 out of 9 businesses have handed over the land, and Vung Tau City has initiated the project with a groundbreaking ceremony.
