The investor for this project, as chosen by the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province, is the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), headquartered at 18 Tran Nguyen Han, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

The construction of the 500kV Bac Ninh Substation and its connecting power lines aims to meet the electricity demands of urban areas and industrial parks in Que Vo district, Bac Ninh province, and other loads in the region, thereby boosting economic development and improving local livelihoods.

The Bac Ninh 500kV Substation is designed with a capacity of 1800MVA and will feature a hybrid design, with half of the station indoors and the other half outdoors.

Key construction items include: a central control building; switchgear and protection control buildings; protection relay buildings; pump stations; warehouses; and rest areas. The project will also include a fire protection system, access roads, and 500kV, 220kV, and 35kV distribution equipment, along with two outdoor transformers.

The connecting power lines will be designed as a tower line, including steel towers: Two new 500kV single-circuit lines will be constructed, along with a single-circuit line connecting to the existing Bac Ninh 2 – Pho Noi 500/220kV line. Additionally, two new 220kV double-circuit lines will be constructed, connecting to the existing Bac Ninh 2 – Pho Noi 500/220kV line.

The total investment for the project exceeds VND 1,546 billion, funded by EVNNPT’s equity and borrowed capital.

The project site is located in Chi Lang commune, Que Vo town, Bac Ninh province. The expected completion date for construction and energization is before March 31, 2026. The project will receive investment incentives and support in accordance with current laws and regulations.
