On September 17, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son worked with the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the implementation of assigned tasks over the past eight months, difficulties, and solutions to promote in the coming time.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Hong Dien, said that since the beginning of the term, the industry and trade sector has faced a series of challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted supply chains; economic crises and geopolitical conflicts worldwide, which greatly affected the country’s import and export activities. In addition, there have been many personnel changes and a lack of leaders in the industry and trade sector.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son raised three issues for the industry and trade sector to focus on in the coming time.
The Minister of Industry and Trade proposed that the Government, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, and relevant ministries, sectors, and localities continue to support and assist the industry and trade sector in fulfilling its tasks, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son recognized and commended the contributions of the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade since the beginning of the term and over the past eight months. He also raised three issues for the industry and trade sector to focus on in the coming time.
Specifically, the industry and trade sector needs to continue improving the institutional system to remove obstacles and create favorable conditions for development. The Minister of Industry and Trade should directly direct the improvement of the legal system, including laws and legal documents, such as the amendment of the Law on Electricity, the Law on Chemicals, and many decrees.
