The event attracted nearly 2,600 staff members at 119 transaction offices, with both online and in-person participation.

Specifically, responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and imbued with the traditional spirit of mutual affection and support of the Vietnamese people, Vietbank, together with the Chi Vien Fund and Noirfoto, organized the activity ‘Season of Connection – Vietbank, for Vietnam’ to directly raise charitable funds to support employees, their families, customers, and people in the affected provinces who are facing great loss and sorrow due to natural disasters.

At the event, the bank’s leadership and staff donated directly and through the union’s bank account to raise funds for the affected communities. Vietbank also auctioned off seven artworks, including photographs by visual artist and photographer Pham Tuan Ngoc, who is considered a master of unique works combining nature with exquisite craftsmanship; a 3D clay painting donated by the Chi Vien Fund, and other artworks contributed by the staff. In addition, Vietbank also auctioned off a series of lucky account numbers, offering customers the opportunity to own numbers believed to bring good fortune and prosperity.

The generosity and unity of hearts towards the beloved Northern region made the fundraising event a great success, raising an impressive amount of over VND 700 million within just two hours.

“As a native of Hanoi, witnessing the beloved city submerged in floods and the pain of the Northern people, I feel extremely heartbroken,” shared visual artist Pham Tuan Ngoc. “Those images urged me to do something to share the community’s difficulties. With the desire to extend a small part of my love, I cherish the opportunity to collaborate with Vietbank. The program has given my artworks a special and profound meaning, testifying to the spirit of mutual support and affection of the community in adversity.”

All proceeds from the program will be publicly disclosed and directly transferred to the account of the Vietbank Union, to be presented to the affected people and used for multiple purposes, such as supporting families who lost their lives due to natural disasters, assisting families with injured members or severe damage to crops and livestock, and contributing to the cleanup and reconstruction of essential infrastructure for civil life.

Earlier, on September 13, 2024, to provide timely support to the people in the severely affected areas, Vietbank encouraged its staff across the system to donate a minimum of one day’s salary. The bank also contributed VND 200 million to join the Vietnam Banking Industry in supporting the people, following the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. On the same day, the Vietbank Union promptly visited and provided financial support to 100% of Vietbank staff and their families in the affected areas of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.

“Witnessing the sad losses caused by the storm, the leadership of Vietbank truly wanted to do something to share the difficulties of the people in the affected areas,” shared Ms. Tran Tuan Anh, CEO of Joint Stock Commercial Bank of Vietnam. “Through this program, we aim to be a bridge for kind-hearted people. We hope to provide not only practical support but also inspire and encourage the community to unite and strongly spread the spirit of mutual affection.”

In addition to fundraising activities, Vietbank promptly implemented practical financial support solutions to accompany the community in overcoming difficulties after Storm Yagi. Specifically, the bank reduced interest rates by 0.5% to 1.2% per year for customers affected by floods and storms, helping to reduce their financial burden and facilitating the recovery of production and business activities.

Vietbank also offered preferential loan packages with interest rates as low as 5% per year, simple procedures, and a repayment period of up to 380 months, with a grace period of up to 60 months. This enabled customers to quickly access the necessary capital to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.
