From the early morning of September 18, at the cultural house of Ward 13, Yen Ninh Ward, Yen Bai City, people and vehicles were bustling. Today, the Yen Bai City Business Association connects with the Thanh Hoa and Hanoi Motorcycle Technical Association to provide free car repair services for local people.

Knowing about the free car repair service, many local residents brought their vehicles for support. The cars had been submerged in water for more than 5 days, causing great concern for the people.

Upon receiving the vehicles, the volunteers in the team were busy checking and washing the cars to remove the mud…

Proceed to disassemble, inspect spark plugs, batteries, oil tanks…

Most of the cars were submerged in water for several days, causing engine failure, water entering the fuel tank, oil tank, and spark plugs. Many cars were covered in a layer of red mud, and the volunteers had to rinse them off before inspecting and repairing them.

Talking to Tien Phong, Mr. Nguyen Trong Cuong, in charge of the technical team of Thanh Hoa Motorcycle Technical Association, said that it all started with compassion and the desire to help people in difficult situations. After the flood, due to waterlogging, many vehicles were damaged, and people faced difficulties in moving around. We want to support the people with our profession, mobilizing members from different regions to help the locals.

The team mobilized nearly 80 motorcycle repairers, divided into 3 groups, to assist people in 3 different locations in Yen Bai City. Just this morning, they received more than 100 vehicles damaged by flooding and have already repaired over 30 of them.

When people come, we register their names and phone numbers and inspect their vehicles. Then we accept the job and set a pickup time so that people don’t have to wait too long. All our team members are skilled and well-trained technicians with experience in supporting people with motorcycle repairs during floods in different localities, added Mr. Vinh.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Yen Bai City Business Association, said that many areas in the city were deeply flooded, causing severe damage to people’s houses and belongings.

Realizing the significant demand for motorcycle repairs, we collaborated with the Thanh Hoa Motorcycle Repair Team to support the locals. This support campaign will last for 3 days, from September 18 to 20, said Mr. Vinh.

Having two cars submerged in the flood, Ms. Hoang Thi Thu, a resident of Bao Luong Street, Yen Ninh Ward, shared: After the storm and flood, both of my cars were damaged by the floodwater. Car repair shops in the city are packed with damaged vehicles. We are delighted that teams and technicians from other provinces have come to help us, especially since they are volunteering their time and effort without charging any fees. We truly appreciate everyone’s kindness and support.

Also this morning, in Yen Bai City, many car repair teams from different districts, nearby towns, and provinces came to support local residents with free car repair services.

Expressing his gratitude to the volunteer repair teams, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Yen Bai Province, said: After the recent storm and flooding, the province had more than 1,000 cars and over 30,000 motorcycles damaged. Yen Bai Province highly appreciates the noble and practical actions of the volunteer teams, which have given strength to the people of Yen Bai to overcome difficulties, recover from the natural disaster, and soon stabilize their lives.
