In the early hours of September 20th, the Vietnamese market began taking pre-orders for the iPhone 16 series, with deliveries starting from the 27th of September.
As predicted by many, the iPhone 16 Pro Max in the Desert Titan color option quickly sold out just minutes after pre-orders began on Apple’s online store and authorized resellers.

On Apple’s online store, customers who ordered the iPhone 16 Pro Max in the 256GB Desert Titan color for the listed price of 34.99 million VND now have to wait until October 7th-14th to receive their devices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This indicates a significant number of pre-orders.
Similar situations occurred on other online retail systems. On The Gioi Di Dong’s website, for example, customers are unable to pre-order the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro Max in Desert Titan and White colors. Selecting these options results in a “sold out” message, directing customers to choose another variant or come back for the second batch on September 27th.
According to a personal Facebook post by Mr. Doan Van Hieu Em, a member of the Board of Directors of The Gioi Di Dong Corporation, “We are very confident in committing to the quantity and delivery time, and we will gift the deposit if we are late. Every time a new iPhone is launched, it creates an incredible attraction. The number of successful iPhone 16 pre-orders reached nearly 20,000 units overnight at TopZone/ The Gioi Di Dong and Dien May Xanh.”

At CellphoneS, the high volume of initial orders caused their website to become overloaded and difficult to access. A representative from CellphoneS shared that customer interest in the iPhone 16 exceeded their expectations, with the number of registrations on the first day increasing fivefold compared to last year.
This reflects the immense appeal of the new product line and presents an impressive potential for sales growth for CellphoneS. With these promising results, the company aims for more than a 50% increase in sales for the new products in the first quarter.

Similarly, Di Dong Viet has witnessed a 3.5-fold increase in registrations compared to the same period last year since opening registrations for the iPhone 16. As of now, they have received over 25,000 registrations.
Another authorized retailer, FPT Shop, has received over 30,000 registrations of interest in the new iPhone. The new Desert Titan color option proved to be the most popular, accounting for 60% of the registrations. “Starting today – September 20, 2024, we officially accept deposits from customers on our website and across nearly 700 FPT Shop and F.Studio by FPT stores nationwide,” shared an FPT Shop representative.
In Vietnam, the iPhone 16 starts at 23 million VND for the 128GB model, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max ranges from 35 million VND for the 256GB version to 47 million VND for the 1TB option.
