The VinFast VF 3, owned by Mr. Xuan Hoan, immediately caught attention when it was shared on social media, and people eagerly awaited the completion of the 100% upgraded version.
In his latest update, Xuan Hoan shared that they are more than halfway through the VF 3’s transformation. Even though it’s not finished yet, the car has been likened to a mini version of the Land Rover Defender.
The headlights, often referred to as the eyes of the car, have been modified to resemble those of the Defender. Xuan Hoan also opted for Mansory premium wheels, designed with CNC monoblock technology. It is worth noting that these wheels are custom-made for the VF 3, and there is only one set of size 16 wheels available globally.
The front bumper and grille have been completely redesigned, with the rear bumper resembling that of a Mini Defender, featuring seamless LED taillights. The bumper and grille are crafted in the traditional style using composite materials, which allows for quick shaping and easy customization.
“This custom version is designed for individuals. For commercial production, these parts would be 3D scanned and made of plastic. However, the initial cost of creating the mold is high, and plastic is also expensive, making it impractical for this car,” Xuan Hoan shared.
As initially promised, Xuan Hoan retained the original side mirrors but enhanced them with LED turn signals for a more striking appearance.
One of the most anticipated additions is the inclusion of a bonnet opening mechanism, similar to the original car, featuring a latch under the steering wheel, hydraulic struts, and a secure bonnet lock to prevent accidental openings while driving.
Although the bonnet is made of plastic, the underlying structure allows for the easy installation of struts and locks. Xuan Hoan’s showroom has created a commercial version of this feature, offering it to those who wish to make this modification. Additionally, the luggage compartment has been simplified, molded with composite, and then lined with felt, making it heat resistant.
The doors have been redesigned using MDF waterproof material, and the entire door panel has been reconfigured to accommodate speakers. The infamous “Merc” sales rep revealed that the car is equipped with a high-end 3-way speaker system from Focal, along with touch-sensitive buttons sourced from the 2024 Mercedes model.
One of the most striking interior features is the floating center console, which offers a wireless charging pad and storage space. As a music enthusiast, Xuan Hoan also installed an 8-inch subwoofer. The steering wheel has been removed for further customization.
Xuan Hoan faced a dilemma when it came to choosing the perfect seats for the VF 3. He is considering two sets of seats, both of which are the same size as the original seats.
The first option is the seats from the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63, featuring a unique side grip that can be folded down to access the rear seats. The cost of importing these seats amounts to VND 180 million.
The second, more luxurious option is the AMG GT 53 modem 2023 seats, made of lightweight aluminum alloy and integrated with speakers. However, importing these seats to Vietnam, including taxes and fees, would cost VND 280 million, which is higher than the price of the car itself. Moreover, since these seats are designed for a 4-door car, they lack the folding mechanism found in the first option.
If Xuan Hoan decides to keep the rear seats, he will likely go with the first option. However, if he chooses to remove the rear seats and utilize that space for storage, the second option would be more suitable. He is seeking advice from the community to help him make the best decision regarding seat choice and functionality.
In about ten days, Xuan Hoan plans to complete the remaining details, such as leather wrapping for the door handles, seat installation, bumper painting, and more, before revealing the final upgraded VF 3 to the public.
