Electric vehicles and hybrids are becoming popular choices for companies in the transport business, especially traditional brands. Vietnam’s leading taxi companies, such as Vinasun and Mai Linh, have already implemented or are planning to implement this strategy.

Recently, there has been a buzz in the online community about another well-known taxi company reportedly joining the race. According to information shared in a hybrid car group, images surfaced of Haval H6 HEV vehicles adorned with the distinctive branding of G7 taxi. The person who shared the photos claimed that the preparation process was complete, and the vehicles were ready to be handed over to G7.

In the comment section, many people expressed their support and anticipation for the Haval H6 model to be used for taxi services.

The Haval H6 HEV is equipped with a gasoline-electric hybrid system, combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor to deliver a total output of 240 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque. At speeds below 35 km/h, the Haval H6 operates solely on electric power, resulting in improved fuel efficiency. According to Vietnam’s registration authority, the Haval H6 has a fuel consumption rate of 3.6 liters/100km in the city and 5.5 liters/100km in combined driving conditions.

In comparison to competitors in the same segment, such as the Honda CR-V RS 1.5L (7.8 liters/100km), KIA Sportage 1.6T (7.2 liters/100km), and Hyundai Tucson 1.6T (8.1 liters/100km), the Haval H6 HEV offers superior fuel efficiency, especially in urban areas, thanks to its ability to utilize electric power at low speeds below 50 km/h.

At its launch, the Haval H6 was priced at a premium, reaching 1.096 billion VND. This positioned it as a competitor to the Toyota Corolla Cross, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, and Mazda CX-5. However, the H6 HEV has since seen a price reduction to 986 million VND, and with dealer incentives, the price can go as low as 900-950 million VND.

The trend towards eco-friendly taxis in Vietnam is accelerating. Previously, Vinasun made headlines by investing in over 800 hybrid vehicles from Toyota, including the Yaris Cross Hybrid, Corolla Altis Hybrid, and Innova Cross Hybrid, while maintaining competitive pricing.
