Ha Tien Cement JSC (the investor) has just reported to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transportation on the operation of the Phu Huu BOT Station at the BOT construction project. road connecting Nguyen Duy Trinh Street to Phu Huu Industrial Park, Thu Duc City.

Previously, the Phu Huu BOT Road Management Enterprise (a unit under the investor) officially collected road service charges at the BOT project to build a road connecting Nguyen Duy Trinh Street to Phu Huu Industrial Park from September 17th.

According to statistics from this unit, on the first day of collection, there were 5,335 vehicles passing through the Phu Huu BOT Station. Of these, 4,590 were collected via ETC (non-stop collection) and 745 were collected via one-stop collection.

The project investor stated that during the implementation of the collection at the Phu Huu BOT Station, most residents had sent vehicle information for registration exemption as per the announcement of the Phu Huu BOT Road Management Enterprise. However, there are still some residents who do not agree to provide information for the exemption.

In addition, there are residents who are taxi and tech car drivers who do not agree with the collection for taxis and tech cars. Some vehicle owners also disagree with the service charge for school buses and garbage trucks.

Enterprises and employees working in enterprises headquartered on the Phu Huu BOT road route want their cars to be exempt from collection when passing through the Phu Huu BOT Station.

Regarding the above issues, the project investor said that the Phu Huu BOT Road Management Enterprise has proposed solutions to overcome the difficulties for local people and businesses.

Specifically, the Phu Huu BOT Road Management Enterprise is applying for exemption from collection at the Phu Huu BOT Station for certain subjects according to the minutes of the agreement with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transportation.

The subjects of exemption include: school buses, garbage trucks, cars with less than 12 seats used for business purposes by households with permanent or temporary residence for more than 6 months within the scope of Nguyen Thi Tu, Dang Thanh Hieu streets; 50% discount on collection for cars of officers and employees of enterprises headquartered on Nguyen Thi Tu, Dang Thanh Hieu streets.

Phu Huu BOT Road Management Enterprise proposed that the People’s Committee of Phu Huu Ward (Thu Duc City) soon organize a dialogue with residents and businesses with the participation of the Department of Transportation and Phu Huu BOT Road Management Enterprise.

This dialogue is to exchange opinions and recommendations related to the collection of cars not used for business purposes of enterprises headquartered within 500 meters from the Phu Huu Toll Station.

Previously, as reported by Tien Phong , on September 17, the investor officially collected road service charges to recoup investment in the BOT project to build a road connecting Nguyen Duy Trinh Street to Phu Huu Industrial Park (Phu Huu BOT).

Sharing with the press, some residents living on Nguyen Thi Tu, Dang Thanh Hieu (Phu Huu Ward, Thu Duc City) said that the collection is still problematic. There is currently no exemption or reduction policy for residents who are taxi drivers living inside the area.

In addition, some drivers enter the yard to pick up goods less than 500 meters from the station, and each time they enter and exit the BOT station, they have to pay a fee of VND 110,000/turn, which is too high and impractical.
