The $95 Million Bridge: Connecting Bac Ninh and Hai Duong Provinces Over the Thai Binh River

The construction of the Kenh Vang Bridge and its connecting roads, linking the provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong, has officially commenced. This significant infrastructure project spans approximately 13.4 kilometers and entails a total investment of over VND 2,182 billion. The commencement ceremony, held on the afternoon of September 22nd, marks the beginning of a transformative development that will enhance connectivity and facilitate economic growth in the region.

On September 22, at the Conference on Planning Announcement and Investment Promotion of Bac Ninh Province in 2024, the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh Province officially inaugurated the construction of the Kenh Vang Bridge project and the two-way road, connecting Bac Ninh and Hai Duong provinces, and the Social Housing project under the project. investment in constructing technical infrastructure of the new Quy Vo urban area.

The inauguration ceremony was changed from a direct to an online format. All the expected inauguration expenses, which were arranged by the investor and the business to be held directly at the site of the two projects, have now been donated to support people affected by Storm No. 3.

The project to build Kenh Vang Bridge and the two-way road, connecting Bac Ninh and Hai Duong provinces, is about 13.4 km long, with the North Ninh Province Transport Project Management Unit (Department of Transport) as the investor.

With a total cost of more than VND 2,182 billion, the construction includes the 740-meter-long Kenh Vang Bridge, 23.5 meters wide, designed with a permanent scale and reinforced concrete structure; the two-way road is 12.6 km long with a 15-meter-wide road surface. The construction site is located in Gia Binh and Luong Tai districts (Bac Ninh province) and Nam Sach district (Hai Duong province).

According to the leaders of Bac Ninh province, Kenh Vang Bridge is the first bridge over the Thai Binh River connecting to Hai Duong province. It is considered a symbol of the development and connection between the two provinces, not only helping to complete the transport infrastructure but also creating a driving force for economic development, attracting investment, and improving the lives of the people of the two provinces. It is expected that the bridge will be joined in 2025.

The Social Housing Project under the project for investment in the construction of technical infrastructure of the new Quy Vo urban area is built on the land of the project for investment in the construction of technical infrastructure of the new Quy Vo urban area (Phuong Mao and Phuong Lieu wards, Quy Vo town), with a total investment of over VND 1,323 billion.

The project includes 4 social housing buildings, each with 12 floors, with a total floor area of over 100,000 m2, invested by Tung Bach Company Limited.

Expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2025, the project will provide 914 apartments, meeting the housing needs of about 3,000 workers in need of social housing. The project contributes to solving the housing problem for low-income workers, promoting the economic and social development of the locality.
