Specifically, the bank advises customers not to perform transactions if they notice any unusual signs, such as:

– The card reader area shows signs of peeling or has unusual devices attached, covered, or connected. Customers may also experience difficulty inserting their cards into the slot (used to copy customer card information).

– A camera is installed in any position that can view the PIN entered by the customer during the transaction process.

– The ATM keyboard appears to have been replaced, is higher than normal, feels loose/unnatural to press, or has small pieces of plastic/tape stuck on it (used to collect fingerprints and user passwords).

If customers notice any of the above signs at a Shinhan Bank ATM (before or after performing a transaction), they should refrain from using that ATM and switch to another one. Simultaneously, customers should immediately contact 1900 1577 or the nearest branch/transaction office to report the ATM’s status.

Additionally, to enhance security when using bank cards at ATMs, customers are advised to change their PIN codes periodically, cover the keyboard with their hand when entering their PIN, and prioritize using the cash withdrawal function via the Shinhan SOL Vietnam application when withdrawing money from Shinhan Bank ATMs.
