In light of this, the Ministry of Transport has instructed specialized state management agencies to closely monitor airfare prices and review the cost structure of airline tickets, ensuring a harmonious balance between consumer and airline interests. Timely detection and strict handling of any violations pertaining to pricing regulations are also emphasized.
Reports on task execution are to be submitted to the Vietnam Aviation Authority by October 7, which will then be compiled and presented to the Ministry of Transport by October 21, for subsequent reporting to the Government and the National Assembly Standing Committee.
Prior to this, the Ministry of Transport issued a document mandating that airlines strictly adhere to regulations regarding domestic air passenger transport service prices. Airlines are required to declare, post, and transparently communicate their pricing and ticketing programs to the public.
Airlines are encouraged to offer flexible pricing options and continue providing promotional fares that align with domestic travel demands and major tourism events. Additionally, they should proactively augment their fleet with additional aircraft to meet peak-season demands and accommodate night flights to cater to passenger preferences.
Proactive media engagement is also emphasized, with airlines encouraged to provide transparent updates on their transport and ticketing operations, as well as offer guidance to passengers purchasing tickets during peak travel seasons.
Furthermore, airlines are to collaborate with tourism agencies, local governments, and other relevant entities to promote travel destinations, programs, and products. This collaborative effort aims to stimulate tourism and facilitate reduced airfare options.
