Mr. Vien Hong Tien, a Provincial Executive Committee Member and Chief of Office of the Provincial Party Committee of Dong Nai, said that on the morning of September 26, after hearing reports from relevant units and discussions, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee assigned the Party Committee of the People’s Committee to direct the relevant agencies to implement the preservation and promotion of the cultural, historical, and architectural values of the ancient villa, “Nha Lau Ong Phu.”

At the same time, they should deploy the route along the Dong Nai River according to the planned schedule, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

According to the Dong Nai Province’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in 2016, recognizing the architectural values of the “Nha Lau Ong Phu” structure, the Department instructed the Board of Management of Relics and Scenic Spots to conduct preliminary research and assessment to propose its inclusion in the list of provincial-level relic ranking.

In March 2016, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province approved the list of changes and supplements to the planning roadmap for the ranking of relics and scenic spots in the province for the 2011-2020 period, with the name “Nha Lau Ong Phu,” using budget capital, but this could not be realized due to various reasons.

In 2023, Dong Nai Province commenced the construction of the road along the Dong Nai River. At this time, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism received a petition from Ms. Dang Thi Linh Phuong, the current caretaker of the villa, requesting to preserve the villa. Immediately upon receiving this information, the Department sent a document to the Bien Hoa City Project Management Board, requesting their consideration and resolution.

On September 19, the Department received an invitation from the Provincial Department of Construction to survey the actual scope of clearance of long-standing architectural works during the construction of the road along the Dong Nai River.

At this survey, a representative of the Department assessed the current status and proposed to the relevant units to unanimously suggest to the Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province to research and direct the preservation and conservation solutions for the existing villa due to its inherent values.
