The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange announced that Mr. Le Trung Thanh, Vice Chairman of Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company (LSS: VN), has recently registered to purchase an additional 3 million LSS shares.
According to the announcement, Mr. Thanh plans to acquire these shares at a par value of 10,000 VND per share, totaling VND 30 billion, through either matched orders or negotiated agreements. The expected timeframe for the transaction is from October 2, 2024, to October 31, 2024.
Prior to this, Mr. Le Trung Thanh held over 1.8 million LSS shares, equivalent to 2.36% of the circulating shares. If Mr. Thanh successfully acquires the additional shares as registered, the Vice Chairman of LSS will increase his ownership to 6.11%, holding over 4.8 million shares.
Mr. Le Trung Thanh has been with Lam Son Sugar for 31 years as of this writing. From 1993 to 2003, he served as the Hanoi Branch Director of Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company. In the following two years, he became the company’s Vice President.
From 2007 to early 2016, Mr. Thanh took on various roles, including: Director of Lam Son Tourism and Trade Company; Director of Lam Son Trade Center; Vice Chairman of the Representative Board of the Fund for Investment in Leading Vietnamese Enterprises; and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lam Ha Trading Joint Stock Company.
Since late 2016, Mr. Le Trung Thanh has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company.
Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company, formerly known as Lam Son Sugar Factory (established on March 31, 1980), was founded on December 6, 1999. The company specializes in the production and trading of domestic and exported sugar and agricultural products. Its shares were officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “LSS” on January 9, 2008.
