On September 26, in Ho Chi Minh City, the organizers of Vietnam’s largest auto show in 2024 (Vietnam Motor Show 2024) held a press conference to announce that this year’s auto show will take place from October 23 to 27 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to the organizers, due to the absence of several automotive brands such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Volkswagen, and Ford, they had to invite motorcycle brands like Yamaha, Honda, SYM, UM, and Harley to fill the vacant booths. As a result, the name of the exhibition has been changed to ‘Vietnam Auto and Motorcycle Show 2024.’

Vietnam Motor Show 2024 Press Conference
Mr. Ninh Huu Chan, Secretary-General of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), explained that some car brands chose not to participate in this year’s exhibition due to their unique strategies and alternative approaches to reaching customers.
Additionally, the challenging economic climate and high-interest rates have dampened car sales, further discouraging brands from joining the exhibition.
Organizers explain the reasons behind the withdrawal of several car brands from the exhibition.
This year’s exhibition will feature cutting-edge technologies, with a particular focus on the latest electric and hybrid vehicles. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore artificial intelligence (AI) and vehicle-user interaction technologies. The organizers believe that these elements will be a significant drawcard for attendees.
Nineteen automotive and motorcycle brands (GAC, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Honda, Skoda, Suzuki, Toyota, MG, BYD, GAZ, Yamaha, and more) and over fifty auxiliary industry brands are expected to participate in the exhibition.
